Although this data was obtained from government agencies free of charge, provision of the data and the interface used to query it as experienced at Redtrails.com represents a value-added product therefore entitling the administrator to do with it as they see fit. Redtrails.com is part of a Master's Thesis and is therefore bound to purely educational, non-commercial uses. Since the site, as an educational project, cannot/will not be copyrighted to its proprietor options are limited if the security of the site and/or its users are unfairly compromised. Redtrails is intended to be used on an as-needed basis for viewing and occasional downloading. The data was obtained from public agencies and is provided to the public at no charge and with no advertisements.

Hacking

Hacking Redtrails.com using download managers, custom scripts, wget, etc. to obtain data through unconventional methods or channels is strongly discouraged. If data procurement through the site's standard channels do not meet your needs try making a data request with an explanation of your purpose and goals. The administrator of this site reserves the right to block or limit priveleges of those he feels have unfairly accessed it.

Data Requests

Large-scale data requests will be reviewed and granted on a case-by-case basis. If the request involves sponsored, ad-driven or other commercial activities it is highly unlikely that the request will be granted. Rather the inquisitor will be redirected to the clearinghouses and FTP sites from whence this data was originally procured.

Data Quality

You acknowledge and agree that the data are provided to you on an "as is" basis, without any warranty of any kind. The administrator takes great pity on you if you rely solely on the information procured herein to plan and/or undertake a hiking trip. I make no guarantees on any of the data and if you walk off a cliff while staring at your GPS display of a track loaded from this site I am not responsible. Your use of this site bounds you to this release of liability.
